Explanation of Exclusive Territory/Region and Affiliate
Obligations
Any Affiliate‘s home state will have first right of refusal to
that state or a region within that state, unless that state has
been previously allocated to another affiliate club for the
current calendar year.
For instance, if a club has claimed Mississippi, Western
Tennessee and Western Alabama for the year 2010, the affiliate
club has the option of retaining those boundaries until such
time as their match obligations are not being met, or the
membership numbers will support an additional club within that
boundary. If those
numbers will support an additional club, the second club must
obtain permission from the original club to expand.
If geographical boundaries tend to make one area more
practical for an adjoining affiliate to manage, and that area is
within another affiliate clubs region, both affiliates may work
together to decide who will manage a given area.
Too many variables exist to make defined boundaries based on the
number if miles between clubs so the
attached map will be used
as a guideline for existing affiliates and regions that are
available. Some
regions are grandfathered in and will hold true until the
affiliate agrees to give up a portion of their region (ex: OK,
AR and MO)
If an affiliate club wants to retain control over more than one
region, an additional affiliate fee will be required.
At present time, most affiliate clubs do not have greater
than a 250 mile radius from the center of that region.
Affiliate clubs are encouraged to coordinate matches with
neighboring regions so that overlapping events within 250 miles
of each other do not occur.
This is only a recommendation.
Inter-region cooperation is encouraged and affiliate
clubs will make an effort to “play nice” with the neighbors.
The MSA Board has an obligation to its members to insure all
affiliate clubs are reasonably consistent
in their management of events and should repeated
complaints be received regarding a particular affiliate, that
affiliate is subject to losing their region for the remainder of
the competition year.
No refund or partial refund of any affiliate fees will be
offered.
